Convicted killer Joran van der Sloot may be back in court by the end of the year fighting to have his sentence overturned, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

"The Inter-American Commission of Human Rights  are going to give a final decision by December," van der Sloot's lawyer, Aldo-Favio Cotrina, told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview.

"They could reverse the case and order a new trial to have his sentence reduced," he explained. "This is very good news for Joran!"

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the 25-year-old Dutchman is currently serving a 28 year sentence in Peru's maximum security Piedras Gordas prison for the May 2010 murder of student Stephany Flores.

After being imprisoned for the violent murder since June 2010, Joran pleaded guilty two days before the sentence was handed down. His attorney at the time argued that his client killed Flores as a result of "extreme psychological trauma" he suffered from the intense scrutiny thrust upon him after the 2005 disappearance of an Alabama teenager on the Caribbean island of Aruba.

Since then his current legal team led by Maximo Altez Navarro and Cotrina have lodged appeals against the lengthy sentence in both Peru and Washington DC, claiming the judges did not take into account his prior confession.

"A letter was sent to us from the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights last month confirming that they have accepted his case," Cotrina told RadarOnline.com.

The legal development comes in light of the latest scandal involving the jailed Casanova as a Peruvian woman claimed she was pregnant with his child.

"It is not true that Joran got someone pregnant," his lawyer revealed. "He doesn’t have any conjugal visitation, in order to get that you have to be married as it is only allowed with a wife.

Instead, he claims Carol Figueroa Uceda, also known as Leidi, is the latest in a long list of obsessed females stalking his client behind bars, which includes two young girls who traveled from Germany and Switzerland and begged to have access to him.
