Jill Zarin Admits Secretly Taping Chat With Andy Cohen

Former Real Housewives of New York City star Jill Zarin admits she had her full 44-minute discussion on Watch What Happens Live with Bravo's Andy Cohen taped, as she was concerned the piece that eventually aired, cut down to 22 minutes, could have been edited to make her look bad.
“Someone in my party did use an iPhone, because they love me and wanted to protect me," Zarin told the NY Post of her exchange with Cohen, who serves as Bravo's Executive Vice President of Development.
Zarin said she cemented the plans to document the chat "to make sure I remembered what I said, and that what I said was accurately edited. It was for my own protection.”
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Zarin, Cindy Barshop, Kelly Bensimon, and Alex McCord were all let go from the Bravo series in September 2011, just weeks before its fifth season was set to get underway. They were replaced by Aviva Drescher, Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson.

In the special, Zarin told Cohen her firing "felt like a death… like my funeral," adding she felt Bravo chose rising star Bethenny Frankel over her.
A source told the paper that Zarin's subterfuge could negatively impact her show business career.
“Secretly taping an interview is no way for Jill to get herself back on the network… or any network, for that matter,” the source said.
