Bobby Brown has told family and friends that not having daughter Bobbi Kristina in his life has left him depressed and empty, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

The 'My Prerogative' singer has struggled since becoming estranged from his daughter and those closest to Brown, 43, believe that was the catalyst for his downward spiral into alcohol addiction, which has contributed to his two DUI arrests this year.

Brown feels like a failure as a father and is afraid his youngest kid will grow up thinking he is a bad dad. “Bobby has been down in the dumps about his relationship with Bobbi Kristina for some time,” a source close to the family revealed.

“It was certainly what started the ball rolling in terms of falling foul to his demons once again and he’s been hitting the bottle hard. Bobbi Kristina doesn’t want to talk to him, doesn’t want to meet up and it’s left Bobby feeling dead inside.

“He feels at a loose end because he hears of Bobbi Kristina’s problems and wants to help, but she just won’t listen to him.

“It’s left him believing he has failed her as a father, and now he’s concerned that Cassius will grow up thinking the same,” the source divulged.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Bobby’s family are petrified that he may end up in jail, but they believe serving time could end up being a blessing in disguise.

If Bobby is sent to jail, he would have to complete a mandatory drug rehabilitation program and that could help him get sober.

"Bobby’s family are at their wits end following his latest arrest and are scared that the authorities will throw him in jail,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “They are not so sure he will be able to survive in jail given his current mental state and are worried that he could come into harm while inside.

“But, despite their obvious fears, there is a silver lining that the family is clinging on to that could actually help Bobby. If he does have to serve time, he will be ordered to complete a strict drug rehabilitation program.

“They felt that when Bobby last went to rehab, he wasn’t serious about cleaning up his act and feared he would relapse.

“Plus, he didn’t spend a sufficient enough time in rehab. His family believes that if a judge orders him to complete a 120 day rehabilitation program, counseling and asks him to regularly attend AA meeting he will finally be able to beat his addiction problems.
