Savannah Guthrie Officially Announced As Ann Curry's Replacement On TODAY

NBC officially confirmed that Savannah Guthrie is replacing Ann Curry on TODAY, RadarOnline.com has learned.
"In just a few short years Savannah has become a standout member of the news division as well as the ultimate team player…she's got an undeniable range, and she's earned the trust of the news community, her colleagues and our viewers alike," Steve Capus, the NBC News president said in a statement.
"I couldn't be happier for Savannah and the entire TODAY team."
Curry gave a tearful goodbye on Thursday when she announced she'd be leaving the show after just one year next to Matt Lauer, and the very next day Guthrie was already in her seat.
"This is not easy to say, but today's going to be my last morning as regular co-host of TODAY," a hoarse-voiced Curry said, flanked by her colleagues Lauer, Al Roker and Natalie Morales.
"I don't even know if I can sleep in anymore after all these years, but I know that whatever time I wake up, I'll be missing you. And I'll be believing in you. I love all of you, especially all of you who are behind the scenes, behind the cameras. I love you guys."
According to NBC, Guthrie's new position is "effective immediately."
