Acting since she was a teenager, Nicole gained international notoriety when she starred in 1989’s Dead Calm, but it was her role in Days of Thunder, the next year, when she became an international superstar and met her future husband Tom Cruise.
Though the marriage didn’t last, her career has continued to blossom, and unlike her ex, Nicole has won the coveted Academy Award for the 2002 film The Hours.
Currently married to country star and fellow Aussie Keith Urban, Nicole is mother to daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, as well as to her two children with Cruise, Isabella and Connor.
