Reese Witherspoon showed continuing support for her father John by accompanying him on a hike in the Santa Monica Mountains on Saturday, and RadarOnline.com has photos of their family trip.

The pair was accompanied by the pregnant actress’ children, Ava and Deacon.

It was a moment of calm in the maelstrom of legal difficulties the Oscar winner’s family is currently facing. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Reese, 36, attended an emergency hearing in Tennessee on May 11 to determine if her father should be placed in a conservatorship.

It came after her mother Betty Witherspoon filed a lawsuit saying that her husband had married another woman without first dissolving their union.

In her legal docs, Betty stated that she and John had lived separately for more than a decade and that John suffers from early-onset dementia and has issues with alcohol, hoarding and overspending. She is seeking to have his new marriage annulled and has succeeded in getting a restraining order against John’s new “wife” Patricia Taylor to stop her using the Witherspoon name.

As previously reported, the Witherspoon family attorney explained Reese’s appearance in the courtroom to the judge.

“This is a daughter who wants to help her parents, particularly her father,” Andra Hedrick said of the actress, who was accompanied by her husband of one year, Jim Toth.
