Nicki Minaj, appearing on Thursday's edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, defends having sometimes-filthy lyrics despite a young fan base.

Asked if she has any moral dilemmas about her content, the Super Bass singer tells Ellen, "You know what, I don’t really think I have to deal with it.

"I’m not their parents … I can only give advice and you guys know I always give my young little lady bugs my most precious advice," she said. "Which is to say to a child, 'Don’t rush to grow up.'

"You know the good thing about my album is we always make it in a clean version -- I know your show doesn’t play curses!" she said. "They don’t have to worry about it … they watch you on Ellen, and they get the good version!”

Nicki's new album Pink drops Friday: Roman Reloaded is available now.

Also on Thursday’s Ellen, in her opening monologue, the host praises (see link below) the president’s historic announcement that he supports same-sex marriage.

Said Ellen: "President Obama just came out in support of same sex marriage and I say, 'Wow -- wow.' There have been moments in history when someone has the courage to stand up for what they believe in, and that one action changes everything.

"It takes a brave man to take a stand like this -- especially in a election year -- so I say, Mr. president thank you very very very much!"
