TV Land honored Laverne & Shirley and One Day At a Time, among other classic shows, during its’ 10th annual TV Land Awards, hosted by Kelly Ripa and broadcast on Sunday night.
Laverne & Shirley, the Happy Days spin-off that featured Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams as roommates in Milwaukee, won the Fan Favorite Award, while One Day At a Time, which starred Bonnie Franklin, Valerie Bertinelli and Mackenzie Phillips, claimed the Innovator Award.
Pee-wee’s Playhouse (Pop Culture Award), Murphy Brown (Impact Award) were also honored on the night.
Former cast member Jim Carrey and ex-fly girl — and now Dancing with the Stars judge — Carrie Anne Inaba joined Keenen Ivory Wayans onstage during his acceptance speech as In Living Color won the Groundbreaking Award.
Aretha Franklin, who won the music icon award, performed a medley of her hits during the show.
Ripa was a smash as host, including a bit in which she dressed as many iconic characters from boob tube lore, including Lucy Ricardo, Catwoman and Wonder Woman.
