He's done plenty of damage in the green and gold, but on Monday, Purple Haze fueled NFL stalwart Donald Driver to his most successful outing of the young season, racking up three nines, and stealing the show with a 27-point dance to the Jimi Hendrix classic.

"Muscular, masculine, magnificent!" judge Bruno Tonioli said. "You have power, you have proud and a bit of sense of humor."

Judge Len Goodman remarked, "I never thought I'd get excited seeing a man with his shirt off ... without a doubt, your best dance."

Elsewhere Monday, Maria Menounos was on Driver's tail with 26 points for her tango; as was Roshon Fegan, who got 26 for his Viennese waltz; Katherine Jenkins took a step back, but still got 24 for her paso doble; Gavin DeGraw got 23 for his tango; Jaleel White got 22 for his tango; and Melissa Gilbert got 22 for her paso doble, before leaving for the hospital with an undisclosed injury.

Rounding out the pack, early-season standout William Levy's jive landed him an uninspiring 22 points, Sherri Shepherd's tango got her 21, and the great Gladys Knight was the bottom finisher with a 20-point tango.

Famous faces in the crowd Monday included former Dancing contestant David Hasselhoff, Jennifer Love Hewitt and John Stamos.

Dancing with the Stars' 14th season continues on ABC Tuesday at 9/8c.
