Just a month after saying he was making a “spectacular” recovery from cancer, Bee Gees star Robin Gibb, 61, is back in the hospital recovering from a further surgery, and has been forced to cancel several commitments.

“On Sunday 25 March, Robin Gibb underwent further intestinal surgery," read a statement released Wednesday to British media. "He is currently recovering in hospital and therefore, for the time-being, all existing commitments prior to the Titanic Requiem concert, have had to be cancelled."

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the legendary musician was diagnosed with liver cancer last year, and underwent a life-saving procedure for a blocked intestine, which was the same condition that led to the tragic death of his twin brother Maurice eight years ago.

Fans of the voice of the disco era were shocked last year by photos of Gibb looking extremely thin and gaunt.

On his website, RobinGibb.com details of his latest health struggle were revealed:

“Robin Gibb underwent emergency surgery to remove a blood clot in his colon that caused perforation. This follows earlier surgery for a twisted intestine and is unrelated to Robin's recent illness.

“Robin underwent the operation successfully, he is awake and has been talking to his doctors. He is currently being monitored and resting in the hospital and his family are hoping for his full recovery. We ask that Robin and his family's privacy be respected during this period.”
