Lawyer: ‘Bobby Brown Was Not Driving Erratically’ When Arrested For DUI

Bobby Brown is fighting charges related to his recent drunk driving arrest.

A statement issued by his attorney reads: "Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and Mr. Brown was not driving erratically. He was speaking on his cell phone. Mr. Brown has not been convicted of anything associated with this incident. Mr. Brown is taking this matter seriously and an investigation is underway. The legal process shall run its course."

As RadarOnline.com as previously reported, the 43-year-old R&B singer was arrested Monday for driving under the influence.

Brown was pulled over in Reseda by the California Highway Patrol for driving while talking on his cell phone at 12:05 p.m., and according to the CHP sobriety tests were given  -- which he failed.

"We observed intoxication once Mr. Brown was pulled over," Officer Tiana Reed told RadarOnline.com.

"We put him through four sobriety tests, none of which he passed. He was arrested at 12:20 p.m. and booked into the Van Nuys jail."

Brown’s arrest came days after the coroner's announced that ex-wife Whitney Houston died from "drowning and effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use."
