Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony smiled through a slightly awkward interview scheduled to air next Monday’s on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, on which they appeared to promote their new show Q’ Viva along with the show’s director, Jamie King.
The diplomatic Ellen told the former couple, “The dynamic between the two of you is so much fun to watch. You know I love you both individually. And, I just love watching you on camera. Regardless of anything, but the dynamic between you two is fantastic to watch.”
“We laugh a lot,” J.Lo said, to which King interjected, “Not always. I find myself in the middle refereeing sometimes. It’s fantastic.”
Later, they discussed a clip from the new show in which J.Lo appears to smack Anthony on the head.
Anthony joked, “Where’s the camera … next question.”
“They put a sound effect in there … it sounds like I’m slapping him hard … all I did was this,” the On The Floor singer said, gently touching Anthony’s head.
Said Anthony: “She can’t help herself … trust me, it hurt.”
Despite multiple reports of bad blood in the A-list breakup, J.Lo has lived up to her past statements about being able to maintain a professional relationship with her ex.
Last summer, she told Vanity Fair, “I will always respect Marc as a singer and performer. We actually work great together, and he was always very supportive. Together we could make magic — and we did.”
J.Lo can be seen on American Idol, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7c on Fox. Q’ Viva airs on Univision Saturdays at 7/6c.
