With the 2012 Grammy Awards just more than a week away, the nominees and performers are getting ready for the biggest night in music, and RadarOnline.com has an inside look at the homes where they will stash their prizes if they walk away winners.
Multiple nominee Kanye West lit up 2011 with his sell-out Watch The Throne tour with Jay-Z, and his anthem All of the Lights with Rihanna and Kid Cudi, so it would be a smart move to start clearing some space in his modern Los Angeles home for another award.
The hip hop star purchased his stark 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom house in the Hollywood Hills for $1,750,000 just a year after it was built, and recently listed it for a whopping $3,995,000, reported Zillow.com.
Rihanna needed an Umbrella to live in her water-logged Beverly Hills money pit, which she bought for $6.9 million — and later, filed several law suits against the construction company and former owner after it flooded.
Nominated for Album of the Year, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Song of the Year, the Barbados-born singer has had to drop the price to $4 million and list it as a short sale.
Katy Perry and Russell Brand’s rocky marriage barely lasted past their first wedding anniversary, and just 14 months after they said “I do,” Russell was packing bags and leaving the Los Angeles love nest. The eclectic pair first lived in a Los Feliz home that the British actor bought for his songstress, which they sold for $3.3 million a few months later and traded up to a enormous 7-bedroom, 9-bath home in the Hollywood Hills, where Perry is still reportedly living.
At just 22, Taylor Swift is a Grammy nominee and a multiple home owner. Up for Best Country Solo Performance, Swift owns two homes in Nashville and one is currently up for sale after she left the country capital to live in Beverly Hills. Her latest SoCal purchase is a charming Cape Cod-style 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom house nestled in a green garden.
After a tumultuous year of divorce, arrests and alleged heavy drinking, Christina Aguilera will be back where she wants on the Grammys stage, while her Beverly Hills mansion is back on the market. Listed at $13.5 million, the home was owned by the Osbournes before Christina and then-husband Justin Bratman bought it in 2007.
Best R&B Album nominee R. Kelly has been a hit in the charts but a miss in the real estate market. He faced a foreclose suit on his Chicago-area $2.9 million home last summer, and it is now listed as a short sale. The 22,000-square-foot home sits on a private, wooded lot surrounded by a 12-foot high concrete and wrought-iron wall.
The Kings of Leon is literally a band of brothers – Nathan, Jared, and Caleb Followill and their cousin, Matthew Followill – who are all nominated for Best Rock Album. Jared bought a beautiful Nashville, Tennessee home in 2010, which boasts hill-top views of rolling lawns, three stories, five bedrooms and six bathrooms.
