Long before she was a perfect princess, Kate Middleton was just like any other little girl – shy and a bit gangly.

The future Queen of England was a Brownie as a child and RadarOnline.com has a photo from her early days, before the designer clothes, professional hair styles and perfect makeup that helped cement her as a style icon of our times.

Dressed in her uniform of a yellow sweatshirt and brown skirt with her chestnut hair pulled back in a ponytail and bangs, the one thing that’s evident is that Kate has always had super slim legs!

As a member of the Brownie troupe Kate was joined by her younger sister Pippa, who was dressed in the uniform shirt and brown sweat pants -- a far cry from the Alexander McQueen bridesmaid dress that gave her the most desirable derriere in the world.

The Brownie photos were taken in 1990, when Kate was just 9 years old and Pippa was 6, at St. Peter’s Church Hall with both sisters posing prettily for their group photos.
