Christina Aguilera is the first to admit that her life wasn’t so beautiful in 2011.

The superstar singer started out the year flubbing the lyrics of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, then was arrested with her boyfriend for public intoxication, and struggled so much with her weight that she defended her curves to RadarOnline.com.

In a new interview with Marie Claire, X-tina spoke honestly about her “rough year,” but said it started with her divorce in 2010.

"It's hard for anyone to go through that in public," Aguilera said about her split from her husband Jordan Bratman.  "But when you're a celebrity and under a microscope, it's 58 million times harder."

The 31-year-old mom also says her body image has been a constant source of strain for her.

"I've been through my highs, I've been through my lows," she said about her fluctuating weight. "Being too thin. Being bigger. I've been criticized for being on both sides of the scale. It's noise I block out automatically.”

However, she’s in a great place now, and it has to do with the man in her life, Matt Rutler. “I love my body. My boyfriend loooves my body.”

Christina told the magazine that after losing weight while filming Burlesque she’s proud of how she looks. "I happen to be very confident in my own skin.  It takes time to get to that place, but it's all about embracing yourself and your body."

She also said that her only focus is her little boy Max, 4, and she praised Bratman’s parenting skills. “My son is healthy and happy, so that's all that matters to me. He's a devoted father. “We always make sure that we put Max first. I have to surround my son with positive, strong relationships so that he feels he has a cohesive family," Christina said.

"Children of divorce feel broken when parents want to take shots at each other. There are many different types of families; I try to center ours around Max and his happiness."

Christina even revealed that she is working on a new album, and her inspiration is survival.

"Time heals everything," she said. "Sometimes you have to go through that pain and heartbreak so that you can get to the other side and come out on top."
