Ricky Gervais told David Letterman Tuesday that while he feels he did his best work as a host during this year’s Golden Globe awards, he thinks hosting the show three times “is enough, already.”
The British creator of The Office said he was content after his much-talked about gig in 2011, when he raised eyebrows after ripping many Hollywood heavyweights to shreds.
“A lot of people said I would never be invited back, so I did it to annoy them,” he said of why he returned.

Letterman was fully behind Ricky’s cause: “They couldn’t believe a guy could stand up in front of famous people and make jokes about them!”
“Anything you say,” Gervais reasoned, “somewhere, someone will be offended.”
Gervais added he had a few drinks during the show, but kept the hard stuff at bay.

“I like whiskey … but I only drink beer when I’m working … I say that like its a soft drink!”
