'Animagus in need of a good home and loving family. Is house-trained, well-behaved, loves children (wizards or muggles), and transforms from a pure-blood wizard to a black German Shepherd.'

The beautiful black dog who saved Harry Potter as Sirius Black's animal alter-ego, Padfoot, in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is in now need of a spell-binding rescue, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The canine actor has found himself up for adoption because his stuntman owner, Paul Thompson, can no longer take care of him or his housemate, Porridge, the Huffington Post reported.

"I found myself spending a lot of time away from home," Thompson told British newspaper, the Sunday Express.

"The dogs needed more attention then I could give. It was a difficult decision to make but one I had to accept was best for the dogs."

In a magical essay, the giant German Shepherd, whose real name is Berry, promoted his best qualities to potential owners on the rescue site, GermanShepherdRescue.co.uk.

"My real name is Berry, Shadowberry, and I am now 10 human years old. Many dog years ago I played the part of Padfoot in the big film that was watched by many people all around the world (or so my Dad told me). I haven't seen it personally but apparently I looked pretty mean in it sometimes.

"I am a German Sheperd and my Dad got me as a puppy. He did lots of exciting things like being a stunt man and animal training for films. That's probably how I got my part.

"I love people and my best friend is Porridge who is 13 human years and who I live with. Porridge has also been in some films. Both of us are a bit wobbly in our older years but we still love life."

While Padfoot (whose human version is played by Gary Oldman) often looks scary on the big screen, in real life Berry is a big sweetie and likes nothing more than hanging out with his furry BFF Porridge, a yellow Shepherd mix.

Thompson got both dogs as puppies and hopes that they won't be separated and will have the opportunity to grow old together, reported the Sunday Express.
