GQ looks ... a budding A-list career ... millions in the bank ... all at 19?

It was a little much to swallow for David Letterman, who welcomed Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner onto The Late Show Wednesday, where the grizzled show biz mainstay and the sexy up-and-comer had a funny exchange anyone, young or old, could relate to.

"He's the kind of kid that really puts me in a bad mood," Letterman joked before introducing Lautner, who looked dapper in a Dolce & Gabbana suit. "He's out making the blockbuster movies, I'm here tied to a damn desk!"

"You're younger a guy than I am," Letterman told Lautner. "How old a guy are you?"

"I'm 19," Lautner said. "I'm getting older man."

"Stop it, stop it, for God sakes -- oh for the sake of the show, can't you say you're 26 or 27, maybe even 30?!?" Letterman told his guest. "Let's try it all over again: How old a guy are you?"

"Fifty-five!" Lautner responded.

"Looks better than Regis, doesn't he?" a satisfied Letterman said.

Fun fact: despite his young age, Lautner’s logged a decade in show business, as he began acting in 2001 at the age of 9.

He stars in the thriller Abduction, which hits theaters Friday; he reprises the role of Jacob Black in Breaking Dawn - Part 1, which hits theaters November 18.
