Kelly Preston was devastated when she lost her 16-year-old son Jett more than two years ago and reveals in a new interview that it was her faith in Scientology that helped get her through it.

“To be honest, it was the Scientology center. I don’t know if I would have made it through without it,” Preston, 48, told Health magazine in the September 2011 issue.

Preston and hubby John Travolta were vacationing in the Bahamas when Jett suffered a seizure and died on January 2, 2009. Since the heartbreaking tragedy, the couple has given birth to their new son, Benjamin, which Preston described as a blessing.

“We had been trying for quite a few years... When I found out I was pregnant, I was floored. I’d snuck out of bed and then came back and woke Johnny up in bed,” Preston said.

“We both started crying. It was wonderful.”

And thanks to her strong belief in Scientology, Preston confesses she doesn’t party like she once used to.

“I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t do drugs,” she said. “I’ve done all of that. And now, I live a really clean life.”
