Rupert Murdoch’s former top executive Rebekah Brooks is now testifying before Parliament in London about the  phone hacking scandal that is threatening to topple Murdoch’s vast media empire.

Her testimony follows a dramatic day of testimony by Murdoch and by his son,  James, during which a man accosted the elder Murdoch,80, and threw a plate of shaving cream at him.

As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, Brooks, 43, was arrested and detained for twelve hours on Sunday for her alleged role in the scandal.

Brooks --  considered to be like a daughter to Murdoch -- edited the News of World from 2000 to 2003, when much of the phone hacking took place. It’s been alleged that the paper’s reporters hacked the cell phones of 4,000 people, including celebrities, a murdered child and the relatives of slain British soldiers.

After initially refusing to step down, Brooks resigned last Friday as Chief Executive of Murdoch’s company, News International, amid growing pressure.
