The Bachelor's season 15 winner Emily Maynard, in her first time publicly speaking about her split with Brad Womack, said she'll "always be in love with" him, and "not a day will go by she won't regret how things turned out.

"I wanted to be married, and I wanted to have more children," Emily, a beautiful single mom from North Carolina, told host Chris Harrison in the emotional chat that aired during Monday’s The Bachelorette on ABC. "And I wanted that with him."

Brad, a bar owner from Texas, did not appear in the segment, but "gave his blessing" for Emily to proceed, Harrison said.

The soft-spoken Emily often fought through tears to explain her anguish over the lost love in the interview.

Emily told Harrison she thought she'd be planning a wedding the next time she saw him, adding she was sad "just being by myself and not having Brad here."

Brad's "such a gentleman ... he's very good at expressing how he feels ... he’s just completely different than any other guy I ever met," Emily said. "We're not engaged anymore, but he's always gonna be a huge part of my life.

"I will always be in love with Brad. No one will ever hear me say a bad word about him, nor will I tolerate anyone else saying a bad word about him -- not a day will go by that I won't regret how things turned out."

So what went wrong, exactly?

Emily said she was planning on getting an apartment in Brad's native Austin, Texas, "but little red flags kept coming up" causing her to doubt his level of commitment.

"I didn't doubt that we loved each other, I just doubted that he was still gonna want to be with me," Emily said. "As a single mom, I don't have the luxury of moving and saying, 'I'll just figure it out when I get there.' I need to know that the person that I'm moving for is going to be there six weeks down the road, let alone six years ... and I didn't have that reassurance.

"I wish I would have known that we could have done something different," Emily said. "I can promise nobody is more disappointed than I am."

Emily called the heartbreaking experience her "worst nightmare."

She said she "just always believed, or thought, that as long as you loved each other, it would work ... my hopes were so high, I wanted it so bad, it's just really disappointing, it feels like a failure -- it's just heartbreaking."
