In his newly-filed response to Maria Shriver's divorce papers, Arnold Schwarzenegger asks the court for joint legal and physical custody of the couple's underage children, Patrick, 17, and Christopher, 13.

He has also asked not to have to foot the bill for Maria's spousal support or attorney fees, which she requested, and that they should each pay their own legal bills.

The papers were submitted by Schwarzenegger's attorney, Bob Kaufman.

Under California law the couple will likely split their fortune 50/50 because there was no pre-nuptial agreement in place.

They are estimated to be worth $400 million but Arnold has asked the court for his miscellaneous personal effects, earnings and accumulations from and after the date of separation to be held as separate property.

In the court papers filed yesterday, it states that Arnold does not currently know the nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of the parties but will seek leave to amend the response when it has been ascertained.

Don't forget, it was RadarOnline.com and Star magazine's joint investigation that revealed Mildred Baena as the mother of the teen son the Kindergarten Cop star fathered out-of-wedlock.

At one point, Baena and Shriver were pregnant at the same time with the former California governor's babies.

Baena worked for the A-list duo, whose marriage lasted 25 years, at their mansion in the posh Los Angeles neighborhood of Brentwood for 20 years.

Maria has moved out of the formal marital home, where Arnold still resides, and is currently renovating a $10 million mansion nearby so the children do not have to travel far in between each parent.

Arnold is getting back to work to pay for the pricey divorce and is set to star in Western thriller Last Stand - his first major movie role since 2003.
