Jonathan Rhys Myers Reportedly Tries To Commit Suicide

The Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Myers attempted to commit suicide, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The troubled 33-year-old star – who has fought alcoholism in recent years – was taken to a London hospital after he reportedly took pills at his home.

The handsome star, who plays Henry VIII in the popular show, was found slumped on his Maida Vale, Central London property on Tuesday evening.

Paramedics rushed to the address after receiving an emergency call, but they had to contact police after he refused treatment at the scene for around 30 minutes.

A source told the UK Sun Newspaper: “"This is very sad. It was the opinion of those present that he tried to take his life.”

The actor was discharged from hospital during the early hours of Wednesday morning but would not speak with reporters.

A neighbor of the star revealed: “I saw the ambulance arriving and was worried to death - Jonathan is a lovely guy – you see him all the time in the street.

“He says hello and is very pleasant. I hope he is fine.”

Earlier this month, he checked into a rehab in Soutth Africa which was the fifth time he has attended a clinic for help.

The Irish born star’s film credits include Bend It Like Beckham and Alexander; he has also been a model for the designer label Hugo Boss.

Wednesday night, Scotland Yard in London confirmed: “Officers were called by London Ambulance Service following reports of a man refusing treatment. The man was taken to hospital.”
