Criminal Minds Star Shemar Moore Sues Over Bike Accident

Actor Shemar Moore has slapped a lawsuit against a driver who struck him while he was riding his bicycle in Los Angeles.

EXCLUSIVE DOCUMENTS: Shemar Moore's Lawsuit

Moore, 41, -- who plays FBI agent Derek Morgan on CBS' Criminal Minds -- filed his suit against Phillip Randall and Florence Rosenthal at Los Angeles Superior Court.

The actor, who is being represented by Lindsay Lohan’s attorney Shawn Holley, stated that he was struck from behind while he was riding his bike on August 1, 2009, on Sepulveda Boulevard.

In court papers, Moore claims that Randall failed to yield for him while driving the car that was owned by Rosenthal.

The former male model was taken to Sherman Oaks Hospital suffering from numerous injuries which resulted in substantial hospital and medical bills.

In addition, he claims that he suffered subsequent loss of earnings and incurred numerous aftercare costs too because of the accident

He is suing the pair for general damages in an amount to be determined at trial.

During an appearance on The Ellen Degreneres Show last April, the former soap star opened up about the accident that happened in the hills close to his Los Angeles home.

He told Ellen that his injuries included a cracked rib and a broken leg after he was hit by the car.

The trial date has not yet been set.
