Cher Opens Up About Chaz 'He Has My Love And Support'

Chastity Bono's decision to undergo a sex change and become a man has been turned into a documentary, and no one is prouder of the story than his mother Cher.
The legendary performer and Chaz held a private screening of the film, Becoming Chaz, at her home over the weekend. A friend of the singer told People she addressed the intimate group saying, "I admire my son Chaz's courage for sharing his personal journey. Most important to me is that he is very happy. That's what I care about the most. He has my love and support."
Chaz, whose father is the late Sonny Bono, came out as a lesbian at 18. Years later he realized his gender issue was really that he was meant to be a man.

Becoming Chaz is set to air on Oprah's OWN network on May 10th 2011.
