In the wake of Jon & Kate, Tiger & Elin and Mel & Oksana, Courteney Cox and David Arquette are showing that every high-profile split doesn't have to be a trainwreck.

"I think when we got married, we set a pretty good example of having a couple last in Hollywood for that long," the 46-year-old Cougar Town beauty told  David Letterman in an extremely candid interview on Wednesday's Late Show, adding she hopes they can set an example of how to maintain grace in a split.

"I love him more than anything in the world," she said of her estranged hubby, who she has a 6-year-old daughter named Coco with.

Cox also confirmed Arquette's Tuesday tale to Howard Stern: that the quirky actor did indeed try to plant a kiss on her during a recent outing to Disney World.

"He told everyone, 'Oh yeah I tried to hit on Courteney in Disney World,' and I was like, 'Dude that's not really for everyone to know,''' Cox said, joking about Arquette's earlier drunken appearances on the Stern show.

As for that attempted smooch?

"He did try to hit on me, he hit pretty hard and I said, 'You don't have the fast pass right now -- not for that ride!'' Cox said. "He's something else... we are separated and David is sober now.

“We are getting along great, it's kind of the best we have ever been... we were just in Disney World, we were talking and we were laughing so hard because we are so close now and being real and honest.”

Cox said she shared some tender words with her separated spouse about his romantic future.

“I was like, 'David you know what? ‘You're 39, you look great, you know you're probably going to find someone named Tiffany or Britney or something.’''

She said as far as a reconciliation goes, she doesn't "know what's going to happen.

"I'm sure this decision needs to be made at some point, we're getting along so well, I hate to rock the boat."

Scream 4 hits theaters on Friday, April 15.
