Apparently, Jasmine Guy never left home without it.
American Express is suing the A Different World star for $86,241.03 in unpaid credit card debt, and associated expenses such as attorney’s fees, delinquency costs and interest, RadarOnline.com has learned.
According to court papers, the 49-year-old beauty, who shot to fame playing Whitley Gilbert on The Cosby Show spin-off, “has received the monthly [billing] statements without protest, and has not advised American Express that such statements were in error in any respect.”
On the heels of her success on A Different World, Guy’s career was at its’ peak in the late 80s/early 90s with roles in films such as Spike Lee‘s School Daze, and alongside Eddie Murphy in 1989’s Harlem Nights. Guy also had cameos on some of the hottest TV shows of the era, such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, NYPD Blue and Melrose Place, and even tried her hand as a singer, releasing a self-titled album in October 1990.
