Brad Pitt and Sean Penn will be on hand promoting Terrence Malick‘s Tree of Life, (though no word if Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johansson will be accompanying their respective leading men!) while Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp are slated to walk the red carpet at the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Woody Allen‘s Midnight in Paris, which stars Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams and Owen Wilson was chosen to open the festival which runs from May 11 to May 22.
