A beach on the twin island nation of Antigua and Barbuda is being renamed in honor of one of its favorite tourists, Princess Diana.
The three-mile stretch of pristine sand will be called the Princess Diana Beach as of July 1, which would have been her 50th birthday.
“Barbuda became a sanctuary for the princess, and she seemed to find solace in the beauty of the island,” said Barbuda tourism chairwoman Dorcas Beazer-Williams.
