Kody Brown and his four wives, Robyn, Christine, Janelle and Meri, of TLC's Sister Wives, tell Ellen DeGeneres about the rigmarole they go through to keep up their four-house, 16-kid household, as well as how they divide precious time with the hubby, on Thursday's edition of Ellen.

"We cut corners... we use coupons... we don't own a boat," Christine said, while Robyn added that the family makes liberal use of the hand-me-down system.

Ellen asked about the "different nights" Kody and the wives use to slate their time together (very similar to the arrangement Bill Paxton's character employed on the HBO polygamy hit, Big Love).

Said Kody: "It's a schedule, and we rotate through the schedule."

"So you have to drive to different houses all the time?" Ellen asked. "Do you ever wake up in the night, and bump in the wall, because you're going to the bathroom in the wrong house?"

"It's actually not too confusing," Kody said, admitting he’s occasionally slipped up on their names. "Packing to come here took me four hours. Because it's like, 'Oh, my favorite socks are at Meri's house.' And I was packing at Janelle's, actually.”

Asked about how she feels about those knocking their lifestyle, Meri said, "I just feel like we're all adults.

"Anybody, any of us, I feel like are free to do whatever we want if it's not hurting any one else," she said. "I think we should all be free to love who we want."
