The Karate Kid star Ralph Macchio kicked butt, and Kirstie Alley chewed the competition and spit them out (sorry, we couldn’t resist!) on the premiere of season eleven of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars Monday night, and RadarOnline.com has clips of both star’s stellar debut performances.
Macchio’s foxtrot with pro partner Karina Smirnoff wowed the judges and audience, en route to a 24-point showing on the night — putting him in first place for the evening.
“You are a great stonking hit,” a hyper Bruno Tonioli told the My Cousin Vinny star, while Carrie Ann Inaba said Macchio’s smooth dance moves came as “a great surprise.”
Alley — who had the second highest score of the evening — received 23 points for her dance with partner Maskim Chmerkovskiy, as well as high praise from the judges: Tonioli told her, “Your foot placement was the best of the night, Inaba said her dance “had sizzle,” and Len Goodman told her, “It was fun, it was cheeky and it made me feel good.”
Rounding out the pack, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward and Disney star Chelsea Kane impressed with 21 points apiece, while WWE wrestler-turned-best-selling author Chris Jericho and rapper Romeo were hot on their tails with 19 each.
Playboy Playmate-turned-E! star Kendra Wilkinson and Czech model Petra Nemcova scored 18, iconic boxer Sugar Ray Leonard received 17, “Queen Of All Media” Wendy Williams scored 14 and Loveline’s Mike Catherwood was at the bottom with 13.
No one will be voted off on Tuesday night’s show — all the celebs are being given a ‘free pass’ this week; however, next week, the real competition begins.
