Betty White pulled off a magnificent upset at Sunday’s SAG Awards, edging out four of Hollywood’s most celebrated actresses to win the award for Outstanding Female Performance in a Comedy Series for her role on TV Land’s Hot In Cleveland — it marked her first SAG Award.
In receiving the honors, the 89-year-old Golden Girl beat an impressive field that included: Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Jane Lynch (Glee), Tina Fey (30 Rock) and Sophia Vergara (Modern Family).

“I cannot believe this,” White said. “This [is] the biggest surprise I’ve ever had in this business.”
White said she was lucky to be working at the age of 89, joking, “You didn’t applaud when I turned 40!

“On top of everything else, I cannot say, ‘Thank you’ enough,” White said.
