Comedian Ricky Gervais razzed actor Mel Gibson at two separate award shows this year, the Golden Globes and the Emmys.

At the Globes in February, Gervais introduced the Lethal Weapon star by saying he likes to have a drink as much as the next guy -- unless the next guy is Mel Gibson. Gibson then walked out (for the last time?) to a rousing ovation.

Then in July, we broke the world exclusive of Mel's tirades towards his baby's mother, Oksana Grigorieva, and the tone of the joke changed for August's Emmy awards: Gervais said he wasn't going to work dirty because the alcohol wasn't as free-flowing backstage as opposed to other shows, then wondered aloud which of the Hollywood bad boys Emmy organizers could be most afraid of getting drunk and disorderly at the show.

"There's no one scary here, really," he said. "Nobody's going to go mental. There are no tough guys. No Russell Crowe, he wouldn't be seen dead here, its TV. Kiefer Sutherland's got a couple of miles to go before he gets messy, as well.

"Mel Gibson?!? No. I'm not gonna have a go at him. He's been through a lot. Not as much as the Jews, to be fair," he said.

It took five years, but Kanye West apologized to former President George W. Bush over his 2005 crack that the Texan was "a racist" because of his uninspired reaction to Hurricane Katrina.

"I would tell George Bush, in my moment of frustration that I didn't have the grounds to call him a racist," the Heartless singer said. "I want to get the exact perfect wording ... I'm here to man up for different mistakes that I made ... I came here to say I made mistakes, and I've grown as a person. I did not have enough information in that situation to call him a racist."
