It was Larry King, live, for the last time.

“Instead of goodbye, so long,” the television talk show KING said, as the lights dimmed on his world famous set at CNN’s Los Angeles headquarters.

After 25 incredible years and nearly 50,000 guests, guests including President Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Tony Bennett, Barbara Walters, Ryan Seacrest, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bill Maher said goodbye to the silver screen icon in an emotionally charged farewell.

Couric, the managing editor of the CBS Evening News, penned this poem with the help of King’s producer Wendy Walker:

The laughter at King’s swansong came from his two children.

Chance, 11, said he was looking forward to the future and having his dad at his baseball games, while Cannon, ten, performed his best impersonations of his father.
