Brad Pitt got some adult alone time in Paris on Monday when he snuck in a smoking break after lunching with a pal.

Pitt and his friend lunched at Chez Prune before heading to a photo prints shop nearby. Over the weekend, Pitt and partner Angelina Jolie took their kids on an evening boat ride for an early celebration of Pax’s 7th birthday.

The actor has been vocal about his battle with cigarettes. In the February 2009 issue of W Magazine, he talked about facing death and how having children made him want to kick his 20-year habit. “I quit smoking,” he said. “That was the only thing that got me to quit. That was it. Done.”
