Traffic cameras at the corner of Sunset and Whittier Blvd in Beverly Hills - the same intersection where Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen was gunned down in an execution-style killing - were "disabled" at the time of her grim murder, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

The movie industry veteran known for her Oscar-season campaigns was shot five times in the chest in the early hours of the morning on November 16 in Beverly Hills, after having attended the Hollywood premiere for the film Burlesque.

Los Angeles detectives investigating the shocking murder now have a working theory of what happened, believing the slaying was planned well in advance.

"I find it very strange that the two cameras at the intersection of Sunset and Whittier were disabled at the time of Ronni's murder," a source close to the family revealed to RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview.

"But we don't want to jump to any conclusions at this point while police are investigating."

Authorities say there is still no motive and no suspect for Chasen's murder. However, cameras patrolling the estate of late comic Buddy Hackett are said to have shed light on the killing for detectives.

Said the source: "But had the traffic cameras been working, we probably would have known who killed Ronni. At least we would have seen what type of car these people were driving."

Beverly Hills Police would not comment on specifics of the case when contacted by RadarOnline.com, other than saying Chasen's murder was "an ongoing investigation".
