The View has been piping hot with must-see guests and unforgettable moments lately, and viewers got their fair share of both Monday, when Bristol Palin's baby daddy Levi Johnston sat down with the panel for a grilling about his mayoral campaign and certain members of Palin family.

The View's grande dame Barbara Walters went right for the jugular, telling Levi, "You became famous for impregnating a 17-year-old girl. You're 20 years old, you don't have a high school diploma yet, you don't have a trade," Walters asked him. "Now you're running for mayor. Would it not be better for you, instead of seeking publicity, to learn a trade, to find a job, to get an education and to support your son?"

The audience roared in approval, while a smiling Johnston hung in there. Asked how he's qualified for the political office, Johnston replied, "You gotta live in the city limits for one year."

He conceded he "might not be ready to be mayor now, but a year from now, maybe."

And his platform?

"At this point in time, I couldn't tell you," the hunky would-be politician said. "I said I was running for mayor, what, a month ago?"

The Alaskan heartthrob said he was motivated to run for mayor because "Wasilla's a great place; I just want to keep it that way for my son."

He admitted that while he initially threw his name in the hat with designs of a reality show in mind, Levi admitted "it's become much more than that to me.”

Johnston said he doesn’t think his Playgirl magazine spread, released earlier this year, will hurt his political career.

"At the time, I was not thinking about running for mayor," he said. "I don't regret doing anything I've done, I've learned from it."

The panel asked him about his earlier comments about Sarah Palin -- namely that her relationship with husband Todd is "on the rocks" -- to which Johnston said nothing has changed.

"I stand by everything I ever said," he said.

Prodded by the panel if he's voted for Bristol Palin during her stint on Dancing With The Stars, Johnston played his cards close to the vest.
