Douglas, 66, has been bravely battling throat cancer but Stone’s remarks gave a little more insight into how difficult that battle is.
The director said that the legendary actor was supposed to join him in Europe to promote the movie Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

Douglas has been seen taking his daughter to school and did attend his movie’s premiere in New York several weeks ago.
Despite Stone’s remarks, Michael’s wife Catherina Zeta-Jones recently said that her husband is doing “very well” and finishing his treatment. His publicist said Douglas will need a six-week recovery period after finishing his treatment.
