Inside the Betty Ford Center. Lindsay Lohan is taking the first real steps in her recovery by being forced to publicly say, "Hi. I'm Lindsay, and I am an alcoholic and addict", RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Every day Lindsay is forced to admit her demons, a former patient at the Rancho Mirage, California, hospital tells us.

"She must discuss her past drug usage, along with repeating the statement she denied for so many years," the former patient told RadarOnline.com.

Lohan's dormitory holds 22 women and she and the other patients have a roommate, the source said.

Twenty years ago, Elizabeth Taylor shared a room with three other patients in Fisher Hall.

The building underwent a complete remodeling, earlier this year.

With more freedom than she had in jail, Lohan starts her day off with a cup of decaf coffee and cigarettes.

She can order an egg white omelet.

After breakfast, Lohan and other patients are assigned chores in the dorm, which is followed by a vigorous schedule of meetings and group therapy.

After every activity there is a "process group" to follow, the source said.

The residents of each dorm sit in their living rooms, sharing and discussing what they just experienced, felt and thought.

Lohan and other patients are allowed to walk around the lake and write in journals.

As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, at Lohan's next court hearing October 22, her attorney is going to ask the judge to allow her to stay in the rehab facility.
