Overstreet plays McKinley High's new quarterback, Sam Evans, on the show. He said the show's producers initially intended to cast him as the romantic interest of show regular Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer), but noticed the natural chemistry he shares with castmate Dianna Agron, who plays Quinn Fabray, and adjusted his storyline accordingly.

Asked by Seacrest if Chord was his real name, he replied, "It actually is... it's my real name... my dad is a songwriter out of Nashville... he gave me a musical name."

"If you go out in public with anyone... people are gonna assume you're dating," he said. "There's tons of girls that I'm friends with. She's a nice girl...  I'm just friends with a lot of different people."

Glee airs Tuesdays on Fox at 8/7c.
