VIDEO: David Letterman Calls Paris Hilton 'An Idiot'

Paris Hilton has had better weeks: The socialite, who was arrested on drug charges in Las Vegas Friday night, is now the late night punch line of the week as well, as David Letterman joked about her recent misfortunes on The Late Show Wednesday.

"Does she need any more trouble, does she really?" Letterman joked, referencing Hilton's stint in jail in 2007. "By the way, whatever happened to  'what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?'"

Letterman commented on Hilton's claims she thought the cocaine was actually chewing gum, saying, "I put it to you, ladies and gentleman -- Who hasn't made make that mistake?

"Not only that, her boyfriend was arrested and charged with DWI -- driving with an idiot!" he said.

As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, last Friday night, Las Vegas police said they pulled over the Cadillac SUV Hilton and her boyfriend Cy Waits were riding in, after they smelled a suspicious odor coming from the vehicle. After Waits was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said they found cocaine in Hilton's purse.

The incident marks the third drug-related run-in with the law the heiress has had this summer. During her international vacation, Hilton was stopped twice by police on suspicion of marijuana possession (charges were dropped against Hilton after she was detained July 2 at the World Cup in South Africa).
