We caught up with the 19-year-old daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her professional partner Mark Ballas following the show, and got their takes after an opening week that was surprisingly smooth for Palin, who’s admittedly inexperienced as a dancer.

Palin  told our Tina Malave that she could relax “until next week,” as Ballas said the couple —  headed back to Palin’s native Alaska for another week of practice — would be working extra hard since “the red light could be hitting anybody at [any] time.”

Ballas told RadarOnline.com exclusively that next week’s dance is going to differ wildly from the hip-shaking moves Palin showed off in her debut, incorporating moves dependent on smoothness, speed and balance.

“Its going to be a challenge as well,” Ballas told RadarOnline.com exclusively. “I think she’s gonna tackle it very well.”

Palin told RadarOnline.com exclusively that her first week on the show made for “an exciting feeling.
