"To be honest, we have smiles on our face all day long, we have awesome chemistry. Smirnoff really gets to see a side of me no one else gets to see," The Situation told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

The Situation said that "what you see on Jersey Shore is just a very small part of" his persona, and that he wants to rise to the challenge of the ballroom competition to show America his heart and perseverance.

He didn't seem too dissuaded by the low 15-point score he received from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman, which placed him in a three-way tie with Margaret Cho and David Hasselhoff for the night's lowest score.

"I literally jumped into this competition to show I'm trying my hardest, and to be honest I think the judges were a little hard with me," he said, adding he'll "take any criticism and try to improve.

"With five days prep, I didn't think I did bad,” he said. “I'll be out there next week, I'm a hard worker, and I'm gonna try to take this thing home as the underdog.”

Dancing With The Stars' eleventh season continues Tuesday at 8/7c on ABC; in the meantime, new episodes of Jersey Shore on MTV, Thursdays at 10/9c.
