PHOTOS & VIDEO: Paris Hilton Pleads Guilty To Two Misdemeanors; Avoids Jail For Cocaine Arrest

Paris Hilton pleaded guilty Monday morning in a Las Vegas courtroom to two misdemeanor charges - drug possession and lying to a police officer - in connection with her arrest on cocaine charges last month, RadarOnline.com has learned.
In exchange for her guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to drop a felony charge allowing Hilton to avoid serving any jail time; she was given a one year suspended sentence, a $2,000 fine, and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service for a non-profit organization.

Clark County Detention Center Justice of the Peace Joe Bonaventure also ordered the socialite to attend a substance abuse program; attorneys for Hilton told the court she would be attending an out patient treatment facility.
Bonaventure warned Hilton that if she is arrested in the next year, she will go to jail. "The purpose here is to change your conduct. The Clark County Detention Center is not the Waldorf - Astoria", he told her.
Paris said she would stay out of trouble.
RadarOnline.com was first to report Paris' deal to keep her out of jail.
"Paris is taking responsibility for what happened," an insider close to the hotel heiress earlier told RadarOnline.com. "She knows if she violates probation, she will be doing one year in the Clark County jail."
Hilton "is learning from this experience and growing from it," the insider told us.
Hilton, 29, plans on making good on her recent indiscretions with charity work, the insider told us, as the Stars Are Blind singer "wants to give back to those who aren't as fortunate -- its very important to her."
Hilton's recent woes began on August 26 when authorities in Las Vegas pulled over the Cadillac SUV Hilton and her boyfriend Cy Waits were riding in, claiming they smelled marijuana. After Waits was taken into custody on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, police said they found cocaine in Hilton's purse.
The incident marked the third drug-related run-in with the law The Simple Life star had this past summer, as she was stopped twice by police on suspicion of marijuana possession.
