VIDEO: George Lopez's Advice To Fantasia: 'Girl You Got To Get Off Twitter'

Fantasia Barrino, just two weeks after her suicide attempt, appeared on Lopez Tonight Wednesday, and said she's going to focus more on herself and her family -- and not worry about her critics -- as she moves on from her recent woes.

"At the time, I wasn't really thinking about people," the 26-year-old American Idol winner told Lopez about her August 10 overdose on aspirin and sleep medication. The incident followed reports she'd been romantically involved with a married man named Antwaun Cook, and that Cook’s wife was contemplating suing her.
"I wanted to be away from people and them judging me,” she said. “It was always like, 'Your hair is pretty but your dress ain't good.'"
Lopez responded, "Girl you got to get off Twitter, don't listen to that expletive," before reassuring her she's a "talented, talented woman" and that her 9-year-old daughter Zion should be more important than her career in entertainment.
Later, Fantasia said, she "got caught up in being the person people wanted me to be.
"After coming out the hospital, when I opened up my eyes and realized I was still here, I had time to realize it's my life and no one else's," she said. "I have to realize it's about me and not making other people happy."
The singer's new album, Back To Me, is in stores now.
Lopez Tonight airs on TBS weeknights at 11/10c; the show will move to midnight when new TBS hire Conan O'Brien takes over the 11 p.m. slot this November.
