Lindsay Lohan has been sending out 'positive and upbeat' e-mails from her UCLA rehab as she prepares to be released, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

As rumors circulate that Li-Lo will receive a cool $1 million for her first post-jail interview the Mean Girls star is preparing to kick-start both her life and career.

Matthew Wilder - who will direct Lohan in her big-screen comeback as tragic porn star Linda Lovelace - has been exchanging e-mails with her while she is being treated in UCLA.

He told RadarOnline.com: “Lindsay is doing really well - she is upbeat and positive. She is looking forward to getting out and getting on with her life and work too.”

Wilder says that they are still casting for the lead role to play opposite Lohan in Inferno and that the actress has been giving him a ‘wish-list’ of actors that she would like and who she has worked with before.

“At the moment we are looking to somebody a little older than her but we appreciate her input and she seems very enthusiastic about Inferno.”

He goes on to say, “We are scheduling to begin filming in November and are confident that Lindsay will be in great shape when the cameras start to roll.”

Lohan will next be seen in theatres in Robert Rodriguez's gory Machete which opens on September 3rd and it looks like she will be released from UCLA very soon.

Her starring role in Inferno - which will involve full-fontal nudity – is seen as a career risk by many movie observers but ironically her profile has never been higher since she was sentenced to 90 days in jail.

The troubled actress was released from Lynwood Correctional Center after serving just 13 days and went straight to UCLA for 90 more days of court ordered rehab.

If the actress serves her full 90 days, it would keep her inside the facility until the beginning of November but according to sources, she will be released much earlier than that.

In recent years, Lohan’s personal life has been plagued with controversy and it may be affecting her movie career as well. She has been missing from the big screen since 2007's psychological stripper flop I Know Who Killed Me and her last hit movie was 2004's Mean Girls.
