Lady Gaga turned heads at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night with not one, but two, futuristic getups. After walking down the red carpet in a wacky galactical outfit, she showed up in a glittery green leotard for her show-opening duet with Elton John.

Before the show, Gaga donned a bizarre hoop-skirted, Swarovski crystal-embellished couture gown that looked like it belonged in another galaxy! The eccentric singer worked with Giorgio Armani to create her custom “dresses” for Grammy night, which were modified versions of the Spring 2010 Armani Privè Couture “Lunar” collection which debuted at Paris Fashion Week.

Her performance outfit was equally memorable. With matching glittering green bootie high heels, Gaga took the stage in a green leotard boasted a plunging neckline and oversized shoulders worthy of a Tim Burton film.

After jumping around the stage singing a portion of “Poker Face,” Gaga was dragged off of the stage, only to re-appear sitting at a piano facing Elton John. Adding to the oddness factor of their renditions of “Speechless” and “Your Song,” both musicians wore glittery, oversized sunglasses and were covered in ashes.

John and Gaga made their affection and admiration for one another very clear. The elder statesman of music tweaked one line of “Your Song” to “How wonderful life is with Gaga in the world” while the outrageous upstart ended their duet singing, “I love you Sir Elton John.”

Funnyman Stephen Colbert outed himself as a closet Gaga fan backstage. “She’s great!” he told reporters. “I can't wait for her next outfit. They should spray her down with glue and put her in a Build A Bear workshop!"
