The Department of Children and Family Services will interview Oscar-winner Mel Gibson next week, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

The move follows RadarOnline.com’s explosive revelation that Mel’s former lover, Oksana Grigorieva, is alleging the Braveheart star hit their baby daughter, Lucia.

It’s a sudden move that has the potential to have a dramatic effect on the vicious custody battle between Mel and Oksana over their daughter.

A second source confirmed to RadarOnline.com that DCFS has already been active in the domestic violence probe.

Oksana’s 12-year-old son Alexander is also expected to be interviewed, we’ve learned.

Alexander, also known as Sasha, whose father is James Bond star Timothy Dalton, witnessed Mel's alleged attack on his mother on January 6 during an altercation in which the actor allegedly punched Oksana in the face, knocking out her two front teeth.

The source said Alexander "saw it all", including Oksana's claim that Mel pulled a gun on her.

In Family Court in Los Angeles on Thursday, as attorneys for both Oksana and Gibson met in a closed session with a judge over custody issues involving Lucia, a DCFS lawyer waited in the hall but was not called into the courtroom.
