While countless teenage girls hope for the day Robert Pattinson is single again, there are many who hope that his romance with co-star Kristen Stewart stays strong - at least until they stop filming the last two movies in the blockbuster installment.

“The thing I do think about is, ‘Oh my God, I hope they stay together.’ Because it could be awkward on set in the next movie if they have a huge falling out,” Twilight producer Wyck Godfrey told Time. “Breaking Dawn, the final book in the series, will be split into two movies and will begin production in the coming months.

It's like, ‘Wow, they have to portray this love story through two more movies. God, I hope they stay together; please stay together.’”

Godfrey continues to wonder about the furor surrounding the couple’s off-screen relationship. While many continue to speculate over Pattinson and Stewart’s status, to Godfrey, it’s old news.

“Do people still report on it? If you look at people who have a stable personal life, the rags get tired of them,” he added.

“I think we're heading to that place where they are together and that's their life and we better find someone new to create drama out of.“

As for the R-rated nature of Breaking Dawn - which deals with Bella (played by Stewart) and Edward’s (played by Pattinson) marriage and child - audiences can expect the movies to be toned down a bit.

“I personally believe no they will not be turned into R-rated films to reflect the novel. Fundamentally, I don't believe the audience of the franchise is an R-rated audience.”
