Survivor Producer Accused Of Murder One Step Closer To Returning To Mexico

Murder suspect Bruce Beresford Redman could soon head back across the border, after Mexican prosecutors formally asked the United States government on Tuesday to extradite him, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

The body of Bruce's wife, Monica Beresford Redman, was found April 8 at the Moon Palace Hotel Resort. Investigators said she showed signs of asphyxiation and had suffered a blow to her head.

Evidence against Redman -- a former producer on the hit CBS TV show Survivor -- includes testimony by hotel workers and tourists that contradict what he told police.

He told investigators he last saw her after she went to go on a shopping trip; he reported her missing two days after her body was found.

An arrest warrant was issued for him on May 31, 2010, after her body was found in a sewer at the resort where the couple had been staying.

The 38-year-old has claimed he had nothing to do with his wife’s death and returned to his home in California without the approval of Mexican authorities.

He has been staying at the family’s Rancho Palos Verdes home that he shared with his wife and their two children Alex, 3, and Camilla, 5.

The U.S. State Department will review the Mexican extradition request before deciding on whether to grant it or not; it’s likely Redman would then be arrested.

His attorney has said his client will resist extradition.
